This policy explains what we collect from restaurants that subscribe to ZAD, and what we do with the diner data those restaurants put into the platform.
On this page
1. Who is responsible for what
For your account and billing data, ZAD is the controller — we decide how it is used.
For the data you put into the platform about your own guests and staff, you are the controller and ZAD is the processor — we hold and process it on your instructions, to run the service for you.
2. What we collect
From you, as a subscriber
- Business name, contact name, email, phone, address, tax registration number.
- Subscription plan, invoices and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we receive a token and the last four digits, not the full card number.
- Support messages and calls with us.
From use of the platform
- Login records, IP address, device and browser type, and audit logs of actions taken in your account.
- Operational data: orders, items, prices, discounts, voids, cash sessions, stock movements.
Data you enter about your guests
- Names, phone numbers, delivery addresses, order history and loyalty balances — whatever you choose to record.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the platform, sync your branches and produce your reports.
- To take payment, issue invoices and meet Egyptian tax and accounting requirements.
- To give support, and to investigate faults and suspected fraud or abuse.
- To improve the product using aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.
- To send service notices. We only send marketing email if you opt in, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your data or your guests' data, and we do not use your guest lists for our own marketing.
4. Who we share it with
- Payment providers, to take subscription payments and process diner payments.
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, who store the platform data under contract.
- Communication providers, where you enable email, SMS or WhatsApp features.
- Authorities, where Egyptian law requires it.
Every provider we use is bound by contract to protect the data and to use it only for the service they provide us.
5. Where data is stored
Data is stored on servers operated by our hosting providers, which may be located outside Egypt. Where data leaves Egypt we use providers with recognised security certifications and contractual safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and operational data: while your subscription is active, then 30 days after cancellation so you can export it, then deleted.
- Invoices and tax records: kept for the period Egyptian law requires.
- Audit and security logs: up to 12 months.
- Support correspondence: up to 24 months.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, encryption of stored data, role-based access control, and audit logging on sensitive actions such as voids, discounts and permission changes. Access by our staff is limited to what the job requires and is logged.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we will notify you without undue delay and tell you what happened and what we are doing about it.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop a particular use of it. You can export most of your operational data yourself from your account at any time.
To make a request, email bznsbutlers@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. If a request comes to us from one of your guests, we pass it to you, because that data is yours to act on.
9. Cookies
Our website and app use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the session secure, plus analytics cookies that tell us which pages are used. You can block cookies in your browser, but the platform will not stay signed in without the necessary ones.
10. Children
ZAD is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 as a subscriber.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will email the account contact before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
